Oklahoma City FC Named Franchise of the Year!

WPSL recognized seven players and the coaching staff

Fresh off its most successful campaign in over a decade, Oklahoma City FC has earned a host of honors from the Women’s Premier Soccer League, including being named the Midwest Conference - Heartland Division Organization of the Year.

2025 WPSL HONORS: OKLAHOMA CITY FC

Organization of the Year - Oklahoma City FC

For the third consecutive season, Oklahoma City FC was named Organization of the Year by its conference peers. The ScissorTails finished 10-1-2, captured the Heartland Division title, and reached the Central Region Final. They outscored opponents 41-9 and completed their first undefeated regular season in club history. Off the field, OKC FC continued to elevate the fan experience by expanding its tent village along the west sideline, enhanced merchandise and concessions offerings, and hosted preseason community events. On June 21, the team donned purple kits and organized an auction in support of Alzheimer’s awareness.

Coach of the Year - Danny Gibson & Niall Crick

For the first time in Oklahoma City FC history, co-head coaches Danny Gibson and Niall Crick were honored as Coach of the Year after leading the club to its best finish since 2011 and first playoff appearance in nine years. In two seasons at the helm, the duo has compiled an impressive 15-2-6 record.

Goalkeeper of the Year & Best XI - Callie Sullivan

For the second straight season, Callie Sullivan was named Goalkeeper of the Year and Best XI as a member of Oklahoma City FC. The incoming University of Oklahoma freshman posted three shutouts in nine starts and registered a 0.88 goals-against average. Over four WPSL seasons, she has compiled a 10-3-6 record with a 0.89 career GAA in 23 appearances.

Defensive Player of the Year & Best XI - Elle Abbey

Veteran center back Elle Abbey anchored the OKC FC defense in 2025, starting in 11 matches. The Oral Roberts University alum helped limit opponents to just nine goals in 13 matches, contributing to six shutouts. Abbey has made 19 WPSL appearances over three seasons.

Offensive Player of the Year & Best XI - Rylee McLanahan

In her WPSL debut, Rylee McLanahan delivered a record-setting season, becoming just the second high school player since 2018 to be named Offensive Player of the Year in the WPSL. The Edmond North senior-to-be totaled eight goals and eight assists – leading all conference scorers with 24 points. A member of the U.S. U-18 Women’s National Team and two-time Gatorade Oklahoma Player of the Year, McLanahan has committed to the University of Florida.

Best XI - Lydia Viets

In her first WPSL season, Lydia Viets made an immediate impact on the back line, starting 12 matches and contributing one goal and one assist. The athletic Edmond Memorial product, a first-team All-City and All-State selection, will take her talents this fall to the University of Kansas.

Best XI - Sabrina Guzman

After playing for Phoenix-based SC del Sol in 2024, Sabrina Guzman traveled nearly 1,000 miles to join Oklahoma City FC – and the move paid off. The Grand Canyon University midfielder was named Best XI after appearing in 12 matches and contributing three goals and two assists. Guzman was also named to the Desert Conference’s Best XI in 2024.

Best XI - Katie Jones

Defensive midfielder Katie Jones capped her fifth WPSL season with her strongest performance to date. The Oklahoma State redshirt-sophomore started all 13 matches in 2025 and led the team in minutes played. Known for her grit and leadership, Jones also led the squad with three yellow cards. The Mustang High School product has appeared in a OKC FC team-high 37 career matches.

Best XI Honorable Mention - Londynn Hagan

Incoming Mustang High School junior Londynn Hagan impressed throughout her WPSL debut season, appearing in 11 matches and scoring six goals with two assists. Her elite speed and finishing ability make her a high-ranking collegiate prospect for the class of 2027.
