OKLAHOMA CITY FC 2017 WEEK #3 COLLEGIATE SNAPSHOT (NCAA Division 1)

Oklahoma City FC was well represented over the weekend as 14 current or former players played major roles in week #3 of the NCAA Division 1 Women’s Soccer season.

Oklahoma City FC players noted in BOLD:

Oklahoma State University (5-0-1)

The 19th ranked Cowgirls went to south Texas over the weekend and remained unbeaten on the 2017 season.  On Friday, OSU faced #12 Texas A&M in College Station, scoring with four minutes remaining in regulation to earn a tie with Aggies.  Junior forward Hayley Woodard had a big weekend, producing a goal and two assists, including the equalizer on Friday against A&M.  On Sunday, the Cowgirls took down the Roadrunners 6-0, scoring five second-half goals.  Sophomore’s Charme Morgan and Jaci Jones started both weekend contests for State, while senior defender Lauren Tresfield started both games as well.

                NEXT: Friday 4 p.m. vs. Illinois; Sunday 1 p.m. vs. Abilene Christian

University of Tulsa (0-3-1)

Senior leader Rachel Thun-Blankenship assisted on the game-winning goal Friday late in regulation to give the Golden Hurricane its first victory of the season 1-0 over Utah Valley State.  On Sunday, Tulsa dropped a 5-0 home setback to James Madison.  Thun-Blankenship and sophomore Annabeth Fouts started both games at Hurricane Stadium, while freshman Addyson Guthrie played in both contests, starting in Friday’s win.

Oral Roberts University (1-4)

The Golden Eagles dropped a pair of home games over the weekend – 3-0 on Friday versus Arkansas State, and a hard-fought 2-1 setback to Utah Valley State on Sunday.  Sophomore Brooklyn Eardley and senior Lexi Jones played major roles in both games, while junior Chloe Bassnet logged minutes on Friday.

                NEXT: Friday 7 p.m. vs. Abilene Christian; Sunday 1 p.m. vs. Central Arkansas

University of Arkansas-Little Rock (3-2)

Jaclyn Purvine, a junior midfielder from Moore, Okla. recorded a goal in UALR’s 5-0 win on Saturday against Sam Houston State in Little Rock.

                NEXT: Friday 8 p.m. @ Murray State; Sunday 1 p.m. @ Austin Peay

Texas Christian University (5-1)

Freshman midfielder Yazmeen Ryan assisted on the Horned Frog’s game winner on Friday, a 2-1 decision over Ball State.  TCU scored in the second overtime on Sunday to give the Frogs a 2-1 win over Missouri.  Ryan logged a total of 171 minutes in the two contests over the weekend.

University of Central Arkansas (2-4)

Midfielder Alex Moore started for the Bears in two games over the weekend, a 4-0 decision over Louisiana-Monroe on Friday, followed with a 1-0 setback over Arkansas State on Sunday.  Moore recorded an assist in Friday’s win.

Kansas State University (2-2-1)

Sophomore midfielder Laramie Hall started in a pair of games for the Wildcats, a 2-0 victory over Omaha on Wednesday in Manhattan, and a 1-0 loss on the road at Northern Iowa.
