Oklahoma City FC hard work and perseverance is paying off just a little over half way through their 2017 WPSL season. They climbed to the number one spot in the table of the Southwest-North region of the Central division.
The large crowd at Norman North High School saw a dominant performance by the squad. Norman native Emma Rice scored a hat trick in the first twenty minutes of play. Oklahoma City dominated each statistical category of the match and closed out the 11-1 victory with seven different players tallying a goal in the match,
Oklahoma City FC did not get much of rest as they traveled Saturday to Lucas, Texas to take on Texas Spurs FC in a Saturday tilt. The first 45 minutes of the match was rather physical and defense dominated. Oklahoma City FC was able to score in the 49th minute of the game. Laurene Tresfield scored a header from a lofty corner kick from Sydney Connelly. Goalkeeper Hensley Hancuff recorded her second clean sheet of the 2017 campaign.
Oklahoma City FC now sitting at 4-1-1 on the season will be on the road again for two games in the Dallas Metroplex. They will take on take on FC Dallas U-23 squad on June 17th and follow up a Sunday afternoon match against FC Dallas.
Oklahoma City will close out the regular season on July 1st at Norman North High School when they play FC Wichita in a 7 p.m. game.
